Hola, amigos

I just looked at your Christmas photos. They made me think of the way Christmas was down here just 10years ago.

The locals decorated their meager little casa with a picture of the the Virgin or Guadalupe outside their front door. To this they added some plastic flowers and a few candles. It was wonderful!

Then Sams and Walmart arrived in PV and they filled their stores with all the Christmas paraphernalia the day after Haloween.

Now, at Christmas, every little casa has tacky ornaments and singing lights. And then there are all the little casas that keep the lights up all year round. Burned out, of course.

I prefer what it was like 10 years ago.
